Baltonsborough

Link to map.

Baltonsborough is a quiet village off of the main roads nestling south east of Glastonbury and just north of Butleigh.

The village has a pub called The Greyhound and a pretty church dedicated to St Dunstan.

St Dunstan was born in Baltonsborough in 909 AD and became Bishop of Glastonbury in 940 AD and then on to become Archbishop of Canterbury in 960 AD and introduced the Benedictine Rule used throughout many monasteries.

At the far western end of the village is an old 16th century cottage called The Gatehouse.
