Brent Knoll and East Brent are both villages but generally Brent Knoll refers to the large and isolated hill on the West side of the Somerset Levels.
The hill sits on flat flood plain and with its steep sides to 137m at the summit, it stands out for miles around. Such hills were often made into iron age hill forts and Brent Knoll is no exception. The top of the hill is flat with undulations of the historic encampment.
The Severn Estuary is not far to the West and the M5 motorway cuts through the land to the East.
