Meare

Link to map.

Meare is a village about 3 miles West of Glastonbury, one mile East of Westhay and approximately two miles north of Ashcott.

It has a long and rich historical significance. But today it is entirely residential with no shops and the closest pubs being near Ashcott. It has two churches and a community hall which has Post Office services on Friday mornings.

Meare is noted for having the only medieval fish house in the country. And it has the prehistoric Meare Lake Village in a field to its north.
