The Somerset Wildlife Trust has several areas on the Polden Hills. They are all of a similar nature and make up a patchwork of reserved areas for wildlife.
The Polden Hills have some spectacular views across the Somerset Levels. The rough grassland on the sides of the hills provide a great habitat for butterflies. It is one of only a few locations in the UK which home the Large Blue. During the summer you will also see many other varieties of butterflies in the area.
The best access point to start a trip is from the Combe Hill reserve managed by the Nine Square Trust. From there you have woodland walks and open grassland areas along the Polden Hills.
